Advanced Life Support

Here at Laurel Ridge we are proud to say that we have an (AED), automated external defibrillator, in our campground. Many of our campers have been trained in advanced life support.

The Chain of Survival was developed by members of the medical community to help first responders to treat victims of cardiac emergencies.

The Chain of Survival is:

  1. Call 911 Immediately
  2. Begin Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
  3. Attach an Automated External Defibrillator, and use if the unit recommends it
  4. Advanced Life Support

Be sure to: 1) delegate someone to notify campground managers, 2) send someone to go to the campground main gate to direct ambulance to the person or site needing assistance.

ALS Monitor/Defibrillators

Advanced Life Support (ALS) defibrillators are used in treating a sudden cardiac arrest victim. Once ALS personnel show up, the patient will be treated with the monitor/defibrillator. When EMS personnel show up they will use the use the advanced machines to monitor the patient's status and report information to the hospital. ALS treatment is the fourth link in the chain of survival.
